So, lets start with the story of my LIFE!

I was an emotional wreck once, always thinking and spiraling. Piece of mind was not my kinda thing. But, over time, I have changed my life through the journey of mindfulness. I first came to know about mindfulness and inner piece from the internet, I must tell you the truth. I knew a thing or two about those terms but I got a clear idea when I started going through different videos and contents. I have always loved reading books, so I started reading books on mindfulness and meditation.

Started with small steps, guided by the gentle practice of mindful meditation. Each morning and evening, just for 10 to 15 minutes, I sat in silence, focusing on my breath and observing my thoughts without getting swept away. It wasn’t easy at first; it never is! My mind wandered, tried to get me back to my usual path but I learned to bring it back, without judgment. And the magic happened.
Let me tell you one thing, don’t expect the transformation to happen overnight. It took me months of practice to be mindful and discover the beauty of living. The constant anxiety was fading away, I was being happier, more graceful and grateful towards my life and almost everything around me. Being more present is now an everyday thing for me. I am more aware; have more inner peace and I have become a whole new person over time.

So, What is Mindfulness and How Mindfulness Works?

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and engaged in the moment without judgement. In simple words, when you are present in the moment, aware of your thoughts and feelings and don’t judge anything in the moment, you are mindful. Mindfulness is an ancient practice rooted in Buddhist meditation and it has found its way into modern psychological therapy due to its effectiveness in managing stress, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

Mindfulness practice has been scientifically proven to be able to bring about actual changes in the structure and functioning of the brain, thus resulting to better emotional control, reduced stress and elevated cognitive powers. To live a joyful life, you need to be mindful.

Practical Tips for Incorporating Mindfulness into Your Life:

Being mindful in your daily life doesn’t need drastic changes. Just a few changes can make a huge difference in your day-to-day living. Begin with mindful breathing exercises for a few minutes each day. Pay attention to your breath, and gently bring your focus back when your mind wanders. Also, it is crucial to integrate mindfulness into daily activities like eating, walking, or even during chores. While eating, savor the taste, be grateful for the food you get every day. While working or doing chores, be aware of the fact that you are alive and well. Start small and stay consistent in your mindfulness practice.

How Do you Overcome Common Challenges and Misconceptions While Practicing Mindfulness?

The path of mindfulness is not smooth but it is not that tough either. You might think “how do I do it?” “I don’t have enough time” and so on. Mindfulness, however, does not mean adding extra hours to your daily routine; rather, it is about living it as a way of life.

Start with a mindful breathing and keep doing that whenever you are aware. It will eventually become your habit.

Distraction will come and you will have to become aware of it.
At first glance, our minds find this difficult because they are used to being constantly entertained. You don’t have to try for a perfect session that has no distractions, instead bring your mind back gently each time you get distracted. This in itself is a mindfulness practice.

Also remember, mindfulness can bring you back into the path of a great life, but it can’t be used as a medical treatment. If you are feeling frustrated and depressed where you can’t really get help from anyone or anything, a consultation to doctor is the best way to go. And mindfulness along with your treatment can help you do better each day.
